この度成山画廊が１年ぶりに開催致します展覧会は、既に成山画廊コレクション展、戌の名前展等で御覧頂いた油絵描き、亀井徹の初めてのワンマンショーです。

引き籠もり気味の亀井は歪んだ憧れや過去の象徴主義を枕に自慰的夢に倒錯しています。明治期に描かれた日本の油絵に憧憬しつつ、人が見た事が無い作品を目指しています。
現在流行している絵画の雰囲気、反写実主義、琳派的写実、フラットな漫画の様な、感情的な落書きの様な作品、外的世界のみに目を向けた健康的な作品らから離れた場所で、精神の優越性を民間信仰や言い伝え、日本的宗教の神秘性らを借りて目に見えない内的世界を表しています。また、今展は１６世紀後半からオランダ等ヨーロッパで流行したヴァニタス画の様式を踏まえた亀井のポートレイトと呼べる耽美な静物画も見所の一つと申せましょう。

TORU KAMEI

A rather reclusive and introverted Kamei lies on his bed of distorted yearnings and symbolist aesthetics, engrossed in an aberrated and masturbatory dream. Fascinated at Japanese oil paintings from the Meiji-period, he aims to create distinctive and unprecedented work.
Far from the painting vogue, he expresses his obsession of spiritual superiority through the mysticism of folk and Japanese religion, thus unfolding his distinctive atmosphere worlds apart from the superficial graffiti considered as the modern trend.
His work defines themes on the edge of vulgarity, bewitching the eye and musing the mind. With tranquil essence influenced by the Vanitas, a style popular in Europe during the late 16th century, we hop you will experince his distinct world of life without movement.
