■「戌の名前」展

私共成山画廊では来年の干支「戌」を表す事に長けた４人のアーティストによる「戌の名前」展を開催する運びになりました事をここに慎んでお知らせ致します。
我が国日本では古来より、年末年始にその年の干支を飾り縁起を担ぎ新年を祝い、また干支のモチーフを身に付けて楽しんで来ました。また現在世界的規模で流行しているキャラクター、マスコット的美術作品が世界に先駆けて速やかにこの国日本で受け入れられたのもこんな所に根源があるのかも知れません。

自分の十二支の７つ先の十二支の事を「向い干支」と云い、置物などを集めると出世すると云われています。「戌」の向い干支は「辰」ですから辰年の方には特に縁起の良い展覧会となります。成山画廊ではこういう古い風習に注目しつつ新しい感覚を来年も探究していく所存でおります。

今年４月にご好評賜りました松井冬子は、個展の折にも情念によって毛や爪が伸びた恐ろしくも優雅なボルゾイ犬を表した事をご記憶の方も多いと存じます。先日のアートフェア東京で土屋仁応は「宛の無い人間の欲と、強かな命」を狆の形体を借りて「座敷犬」という作品に表しました。亀井徹は象徴主義の香り、明治の油絵の香りで戌を、羽渕祐宏は永年培った染色の巧でご期待に沿う戌を表します。

From ancient time in Japan,we enjoyed by displaying the years zodiac sign at the end and beginning of the year, for good new year luck.and all those vogue character and mascot like modern art around the world, maybe the origin starts from here.
We call the seventh far zodiac sign from oneself the "opposite zodiac sign",and we say that,collecting the ornaments of the "opposite zodiac" is a good luck for successful life.The opposite of "dog" is "dragon",so this exhibition must be a good luck exhibition for the birth of "dragon" people.
At gallery naruyama, we would like to pay attention to these old customs and look futher and explore more into the new style. As your remember from april, Matsui Fuyuko ,her fearless elegant Borzoi dog ,passion makes the countinues hair and nails grow.
Tsuchiya Yoshimasa from artfair tokyo,"endless human greed,passion life"which made into "roomdog". Kamei tohru, made the dog into the symbolism meiji period oil painting.
habuchi masahiro , made the dog from his long dyeing skills will surely be an enjoyable one.
